Robeson man shot, another wanted in his death

Robeson County authorities were looking for Brian Carl Oxendine, 20, of Hazel Road in Pembroke, Wednesday morning in connection with the shooting death of another man the day before.

MAXTON, N.C. — Robeson County authorities were looking for Brian Carl Oxendine, 20, of Hazel Road in Pembroke, Wednesday morning in connection with the shooting death of another man the day before.

According to the Robeson County Sheriff's Office, James Oxendine, 48, was found shot in the yard of Brooks Feeds and Hunting Supplies on U.S. Highway 74 West in Maxton Tuesday. The victim lives on Kitchen Street in Rowland.

Authorities believe the shooting was the result of an argument, but they did not say whether the two men, who share a last name, are related.
