Robbery reported at Durham bank

Police were searching for the suspect in the robbery of Wachovia bank, 2000 West Main St. in Durham, on Monday afternoon.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police were searching for the suspect in the robbery of a Wachovia bank, 2000 West Main St. in Durham, on Monday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., a man entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money, police spokesman Kammie Michael said. No weapon was seen.

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was described as a black man, wearing a brown jacket, dark sunglasses, a baseball cap and blue jeans.

He was carrying a satchel, similar to a laptop bag, over his shoulder.
