FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County deputies are searching for four or five men suspected of attacking a Southview High School student two weeks ago.

The 18-year-old told authorities he was walking home from gospel choir practice at school on April 30 when four or five men jumped him. He said he was beaten and robbed behind a Dollar General store on Legion Road.

The teen suffered a cut on the back of his ear and neck and a bruise on his forehead. The robbers apologized after determining he didn't have anything of value in his pockets or backpack, the teen told authorities.

The robbers, who were all 18 to 20 years old, fled in a red Saturn Ion, he told authorities.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at 910-323-1500 or 910-484-TIPS.
