RALEIGH, N.C. — High pressure will keep the Triangle sunny on Wednesday but temperatures and humidity will begin to creep back up.

Wednesday's high temperature will reach 92 degrees, said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. By the end of the week, though, the mercury will register 95 degrees, about 10 degrees above normal for the time of year.

"Of course, that's way above normal," Gardner said. "Our normal for Thursday is 85, but our normal really drops pretty significantly as we head through the weekend."

The humidity on Wednesday will be higher than a day earlier, but it won't be stifling. Dew points are still comfortable, Gardner said.

"It's feeling pretty good," Gardner said. "(It's) a little bit warmer than it was this time yesterday but feeling pleasant because our dew point is not that high."

A northerly flow of air could bring a small chance of showers later Wednesday afternoon.

"We're talking about maybe a 5 to 10 to 15 percent chance," Gardner said. "A very slim chance of that."
