Reward offered in red wolf death

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a reward up to $2,500 for information on the death of red wolf in Tyrrell County.

CRESWELL, N.C. — The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a reward up to $2,500 for information about the death of a red wolf in Tyrrell County.

The wolf, which is protected under the Endangered Species Act, was found dead near Creswell on Sept. 4.

The unlawful taking of a red wolf could result in a one-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $100,000.
