OXFORD, N.C. — The family of a construction worker killed in a hit-and-run accident last week on Thursday offered a reward for information in the case.

Richard "R.C." Williamson, 67, was directing traffic for a road crew working on N.C. Highway 96 near Bruce Garner Road in Granville County on June 13 when a car hit him and left the scene, authorities said. He died the next day at Duke University Hospital.

His family is offering $1,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the hit-and-run driver.

The only description of the vehicle is that it is a two-door white or cream-colored car, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Highway Patrol's Durham office at 919-560-6868.
