Reward offered for probationer wanted in vehicle theft

Durham Crime Stoppers has offered a reward for a 25-year-old man wanted for a vehicle theft, a hit-and-run and misdemeanor probation violations.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham Crime Stoppers has offered a reward for a 25-year-old man wanted for a vehicle theft, a hit-and-run and misdemeanor probation violations.

The Durham Sheriff's Office has also charged James Christopher Davis with two counts of felony drug possession and one count of felony fleeing or eluding with a motor vehicle.

Davis was described as a black man, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. His last known address is 7446 N.C. Highway 751 in Durham.

Davis' probation stemmed from 2007 convictions for possession of stolen goods and drug paraphernalia, according to state Department of Correction records. Earlier, he served nine months for violating his probation from 2003 and 2002 convictions for breaking-and-entering motor vehicles, possession of stolen goods, resisting officers and drug violations.
