RALEIGH, N.C. — The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon coming to Raleigh next April will include routes around downtown and a western loop past the Museum of Art and State Fairgrounds.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series combines musically themed marathons and half-marathons with live entertainment. It has been described as "a 26.2-mile block party." Runners encounter cheer squads and local bands lining the course.
The event is April 13, 2014 and will include a two-day Health and Fitness Expo at the Raleigh Convention Center.
The race routes, released Wednesday, show runners of both the half and full marathons will start outside Memorial Auditorium, and circle through downtown Raleigh before heading west on Peace Street. The half marathon makes the turn at Gardner Street and brings runners back downtown by way of Western Boulevard.

Runners of the full marathon will continue west on Hillsborough and Reedy Creek to Trenton Road west of Raleigh, before returning via Trinity Road and Hillsborough Street to the downtown finish line.
