Recall: Green Free and Clear laundry detergent may contain bacteria

Green Free and Clear laundry detergent was recalled Monday because it may contain bacteria.

Art of Green is recalling 14,550 units of its Green Free and Clear laundry detergent in 100-ounce bottles and Zen Lavender Garden laundry detergent in 100-ounce bottles and 33.8-ounce pouches.

The products may contain the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through a break in the skin. People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date.

People with the affected product should make sure the bottle is tightly sealed and place it in a trash can. The product should not be used or emptied from the bottle.

People requesting a refund should take a photo of the UPC label (near the barcode) and date code found on the caps.
