RALEIGH, N.C. — An 11-year-old Raleigh boy will represent the Southeast at Tuesday's major league baseball All-Star game as one of six Boys and Girls Clubs S.T.A.R. regional representatives in a national competition.

The boy, whom officials of the Raleigh club organization identified only as "Van H.," will enter Martin Middle School this fall, they said.

S.T.A.R. stands for sportsmanship, team spirit, achievement and responsibility.

The six regional winners will be honored at the All-Star game in San Francisco and will attend several related events, Boys and Girls Club officials said.

One of the six will be attending the World Series as the national winner.
