Raleigh woman accused of running marijuana growing operation

Shakelle Antwainett Rowland, 34, of 6404 Island Ford Drive, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining dwelling for manufacturing drugs and misdemeanor child abuse, according to arrest warrants.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh woman is accused of growing marijuana in the home she shares with her young children.

Shakelle Antwainett Rowland, 34, of 6404 Island Ford Drive, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining dwelling for manufacturing drugs and misdemeanor child abuse, according to arrest warrants.

Police discovered a marijuana growing operation and other drug paraphernalia inside Rowland's home last week. Arrest warrants indicate more than 100 marijuana plants were found there.

One of Rowland’s children suffers from asthma, according to warrants.

Rowland was released on bond Thursday and is due in court on Friday.
