Sherry Graham, director of Raleigh's Walnut Creek Wetland Center, tells me she'd love for a few more preschoolers to sign up for this month's Preschool Swamp Romp.

The Jan. 17 program for parents and their kids ages 3 to 5 includes a craft, engaging activity and a guided walk through the wetland. It's aimed at awakening your preschooler's sense of wonder.

The regular program is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Jan. 17. Other swamp romps are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 7, Feb. 21, March 13, March 27, April 10 and April 24. Each week features a different nature-inspired theme. The fee is $3. Registration is required.

I featured the wetland center, which is near downtown Raleigh, last year. It's a great place to drop in for a visit. They also have many other programs for kids from preschoolers to adults.
For details or to register for this month's swamp romp, go to Raleigh's RecLink or give Graham a call at 919-831-1960.
