I'm a fan of the Historic Raleigh Trolley. On Saturdays from March to December, the trolley offers a great tour of downtown.

While it might not hold a younger child's attention span for very long, I definitely would recommend it for grade schoolers and up. You'll learn some fun information about the City of Oaks. It's a great activity if you're hosting out-of-town guests.

The trolley takes some time off from regular tours this time of year, but it will hold some special tours next month to mark Black History Month. They will run at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., Feb. 16. Tickets are $10. Reservations are recommended (the seats often fill up for these special rides).

Call Mordecai Historic Park at 919-857-4364 for tickets and more information.
