Interviews for Raleigh's summer youth employment program will start March 6.

The program is open to teens who are at least 15 years and no older than 18 years as of May 31. Teens selected will work 20 to 30 hours a week as office staff, light laborers, staff assistants and recreation counselors. The program runs from June 11 to Aug. 10. The pay is $7.25 per hour.

In addition to the work experience, the program also includes life skills training and mentoring by local lawyers and law enforcement officers. Teens will attend workshops on topics such as employment readiness, communication, budgeting, decision making and conflict resolution.

The city is holding interview and application sessions on specific dates at locations across the city. For more information about the dates and locations, along with what teens will need in order to apply, click here.
