RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police released surveillance images Sunday of two men they say tried to rob a convenience store at gunpoint on Oct. 15.

The robbery was thwarted by a store clerk, who refused to give the men any money, police said. As the suspects fled on foot, one of them pointed a gun at a store customer.

Witnesses only provided a description of one of the suspects. They told investigators that the armed man is black, in his 20s, about 6 feet 1 inch tall, with a slim build and facial hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt with writing on the front and jeans.

In the surveillance images, the second suspect appears to be dressed in dark-colored clothing with a hood covering his head.
