Raleigh police search for shooting suspect

Michael Wayne Hutchison Jr., 20, faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in connection with the shooting at 201-103 Lightner Lane this past Saturday, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man is wanted after police said he shot into an occupied apartment striking an 11-year-old.

Michael Wayne Hutchison Jr., 20, faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in connection with the shooting at 201-103 Lightner Lane this past Saturday, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

The 11-year-old was asleep in the residence when he was struck in the right arm by the bullet. He was treated at WakeMed for non life-threatening injuries

Hutchison remains at large. He is described as white, 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds. He has the letters “YMG” tattooed on the right side of his neck.
