RALEIGH, N.C. — A 22-year-old man was lying in a Raleigh road before a car hit him early Sunday, according to a police report.

Darius Alexander Kolar, of Cary, was struck by a Dodge sedan on Gorman Street, near Kaplan Drive, around 1:15 a.m., police said. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to WakeMed.

The wreck report states that it's unknown why Kolar was in the road, but police suspect that he was impaired due to alcohol. Results of an alcohol test were pending Monday.

No charges have been filed.
