Two Raleigh girls located; police rule out kidnapping

Police said Thursday that two girls picked up in an SUV in northeast Raleigh weren't kidnapped and have been found.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police said Thursday that two girls picked up in an SUV in northeast Raleigh weren't kidnapped and have been found.

Initial reports said a man forced the girls into an SUV near the intersection of Coral Ridge Court and Wallingford Drive shortly before 8:30 a.m.

Multiple witnesses told police that a man in a white SUV, possibly a Ford Expedition, stopped and made the girls get into the vehicle before driving off.

Shortly before 11 a.m., police issues a news release stating that at least one of the girls knew the man and that they weren't abducted. The girls were located and are fine, police said.
