Raleigh police close streets after domestic situation

Raleigh police say a situation involving a man barricaded alone inside a house for several hours Monday has ended peacefully.

Police responded to a home on Edgedale Drive shortly before noon after receiving reports of gunshots in the area.

Authorities closed off nearby streets and asked residents to stay inside their houses.

It's unclear what happened exactly.

A police spokeswoman would say only that the situation was resolved "without further incident" and that the individual was taken for a medical evaluation.
