Raleigh Police Arrest Man Wanted for 3 Armed Robberies
Raleigh police arrested a man Tuesday in connection with three armed robberies.
Posted — UpdatedRichard Lee Adams Jr. , 18, was charged with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of attempted robbery and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue said the first robbery occurred at about 10:50 p.m. Sunday at the Bell Tower Mart, 2100 Hillsborough St. At 11:13 p.m. – 23 minutes later – police were called out to the second robbery at the Handee Hugo, 2610 Atlantic Ave.
The suspect fired a shot during the robbery at the Bell Tower Mart, but no one was injured, police said.
A third robbery occurred Monday night at the Handee Hugo, 800 S. New Hope Rd.
The attempted robbery charge stemmed from an attempt to rob a store customer Sunday at Handee Hugo, Sughrue said.
