Two Raleigh police officers taken to hospital after hotel fire

Three people, including two Raleigh police officers, were recovering at a local hospital early Thursday after being injured in a fire that was intentionally set at a Raleigh motel.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Three people, including two Raleigh police officers, were recovering at a local hospital early Thursday after being injured in a fire that was intentionally set at a Raleigh motel.

Emergency crews responded to the Wake Inn, at 3120 New Bern Ave., at about 9:20 p.m.

The officers and another person were taken to WakeMed to be treated for smoke inhalation, fire officials said.

No other information about the fire has been released, but officials said it was intentionally set.
