Authorities found five rottweilers, one pit-bull and one deceased dachshund at the home of Marques Harrison Wilkerson, 26, of 609 Angel Court, Apartment C, according to arrest warrants.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — A Raleigh man was charged Friday with animal cruelty.

The animals were living in unsanitary conditions with no water available.

Wilkerson's next court appearance is scheduled for June 2.

According to the Chatham County Sheriff's Office, deputies used "all less-than-lethal options" available and captured three of the four dogs. After deputies tried to capture the fourth dog on multiple occasions, a deputy shot and killed the dog.
