Raleigh man charged in bank robbery

Raleigh police have arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery near the North Carolina State University campus on Friday afternoon.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police have arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery near the North Carolina State University campus on Friday afternoon.

According to police, James Lewis Johnson, 53, walked into the Wells Fargo branch at 2600 Hillsborough St. at about 3:30 p.m., demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

Johnson was arrested shortly after the robbery, police said. He's in Wake County Jail under a $200,000 bond.
