Raleigh man charged in armed robbery

A 19-year-old Raleigh man was arrested Thursday in connection with the armed robbery of a grocery store in February.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 19-year-old Raleigh man was arrested Thursday in connection with the armed robbery of a grocery store in February.

Marquavious Raswhad Evans, of 909 Reflection Court, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The warrant states that Evans used a black revolver and threatened the life of a clerk at the North King Charles Road Grocery Store on Feb. 22. He conspired with two other men n the robbery, in which $400 were stolen.

Evans was placed on probation May 3 after being convicted of assault by pointing a gun in connection with a Dec. 4, 2009, incident, according to state Department of Correction records.
