Raleigh man arrested after high-speed chase

Curtis Hardy, 39, of 2428 Kingsboro Road in Raleigh, fled instead of pulling over for a license checkpoint Monday evening, troopers said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man led troopers on a high-speed chase Monday evening in Wake County.

The chase began at a license checkpoint near Jones Sausage and Garner roads in Garner at about 9:30 p.m., troopers said.

Curtis Hardy, 39, of 2428 Kingsboro Road in Raleigh, fled instead of pulling over for the checkpoint, troopers said. The chase lasted about 15 minutes and reached speeds over 100 mph.

Hardy was arrested on New Bern Avenue, near Sunnybrook Road.

He faces charges of felony speeding to elude arrest, driving while impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia, troopers said.

No injuries were reported.
