Raleigh holds African American Cultural Festival this Labor Day weekend

Fayetteville Street in Raleigh will be hosting the third annual African American Cultural Festival this weekend, Sept. 1 - 2. This celebration of African American music, art and culture is sure to be a hit, as last year's festival attracted more than 23,000 people.
A variety of attractions, including an international art market, a vendor marketplace, a "family village" and a main performance stage, will provide something for everyone.
Check out musical performances by ConFunkShun, Calvin Richardson, Kellylee Evans, Johnny White and the Elite Band, fo/mo/deep and more. More information and a full schedule of events is available on the festival's website.
This year's festival is also honoring North Carolina artist Ivey Hayes, whose work has received many awards and has been exhibited in New York, Boston and Washington D.C.
