RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh woman is accused of leaving her grandchild at home while she went to a store to steal wine.

Vivian King Leak, 48, of 3980 Neeley St., was charged Friday with shoplifting, resisting an officer and misdemeanor child abuse.

Police said Leak left a 3-month-old infant asleep on the bed next to the crib while she went to the Food Lion at 3926 Western Blvd. While at the store, police said, Leak took two mini bottles of wine.

When confronted, authorities said Leak gave them an incorrect name and birthdate.

Leak was being held under a $5,000 bond in the Wake County jail on Monday.
