RALEIGH, N.C. — ICYMI: Pho Nomenal Dumplings is on Food Network’s "Great Food Truck Race" Season 6. SPOILER ALERT: They are moving on to the finale, where they travel to St Louis, Springfield (where they can only take $5 in honor of President Lincoln) and Chicago.

This has been a "Cinderella" story. It started with their food truck having engine trouble in Lake Havasu. They kept going and traveled the distance of Route 66 to prove they are the best food truck. Now, the only truck standing in their way is Waffle Love, a Provo, Utah food truck specializing in Liege waffles.

On last night's episode, Pho Nomenal Dumpling produced what looked to be a great roadside attraction inspired by a Taiwanese Night Market. With $500 in seed money for the attraction, they had a carnival-like atmosphere with a mural, face painter and magician. Waffle Love came back with their personal selling skills, grabbing double the customers in a challenge at a classic car show. In the end Waffle Love cam out on top but only by $43 over Pho Nomenal Dumplings.

Circle your calendars for Sept. 27. In celebration of their appearance on Season 6, Pho Nomenal Dumpling will be at Blackjack Brewing for a local version of the Great Food Truck Race. The competition hosted by The Chef Academy will have Chirba Chirba, Sol Tacos, and AmigoSan competing against each other in a similar Great Food Truck fashion. There will be hijinks, celebrity judges, and Pho Nomenal Dumpling will narrate the competition. The event will be $2 with all proceeds going to Stop Hunger Now. Blackjack Brewing Company will also have pint specials. The event will start at 5pm. Stick around to watch the finale of the "Great Food Truck Race" and cheer on Pho Nomenal Dumplings.
This Tuesday, Chef Ryan Jacobson of the Manna will takeover the Berkeley Café as part of the Takeover Tuesday series.
Caffe Bellezza, the Triangle’s mobile Italian inspired coffee bar, will host Thursday Night Throwdown at Sam’s Quick Shop. This competition puts the area’s best baristas in a battle for the best. The event starts at 6:30 p.m.
Get your tickets now for Meals from the Market, Durham Central’s Park “tasting” food truck rodeo. When people talk to me about food truck rodeos, they always ask me “how do you eat from all of them?” or “there’s so much food I only ate from (a certain number).” This food truck rodeo solves this as a ticketed event where you get smaller portions, which provide opportunities to try from many food trucks. The event takes place the evening of Sunday, Sept. 27 at Durham Central Park.
Also, Downtown Garner has released the food trucks and breweries participating in their annual Trick or Eat food truck rodeo. Scheduled Sunday, Oct. 25, this food truck rodeo will have 14 food trucks and 3 breweries located between Rand Mill and Montague on Main Street in Garner.
