Here's a fun weekend activity for kids who love classic stories and dance:

The Raleigh Dance Theatre's annual Storybook Tales performance is set for Nov. 7 and Nov. 8. The nonprofit group, which offers pre-professional dance programs for kids, annually tells the stories of children's books through dance. This year's performance will feature "The Rainbow Fish" and "Snow White."

The performances will take place at the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. They're available on Raleigh Dance Theatre's website.

Before the big shows, the group will also offer free demonstrations at three Wake County libraries starting this weekend. Dancers will dance along to the stories. Kids will get a chance to take part too.

Here's where they'll be:

  • 4 p.m., Saturday, at Cameron Village Regional Library, 1930 Clark Ave., Raleigh
  • 2 p.m., Sunday, at West Regional Library, 4000 Louis Stephens Dr., Cary
  • 4 p.m., Oct. 17, at North Regional Library, 7009 Harps Mill Rd., Raleigh
