RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh water customers have cut back on their usage compared to last week, according to figures released Wednesday.

Consumers used 59 million gallons of water on Monday and 70.6 million gallons on Tuesday. Wednesday’s data was not immediately available.

Those figures are each less than last Thursday’s record-setting day, which showed that consumers used 77 million gallons of water.

Raleigh cited 28 customers this past weekend for violating the mandatory year-round watering restrictions. All told, 429 violations were handed out.
