Here's a different take on a night out at the museum.

The N.C. Museum of Art will host a family campout and movie starting at 5:30 p.m., Aug. 1.

Families are invited to bring a tent, sleeping bags and lanterns for a night in the Raleigh museum's park. The cost includes a dinner of burgers and hot dogs; an art-making activity; an outdoor viewing of "The Book of Life (rated PG); s'mores; and a glow walk in the Museum Park.

In the morning, there will be doughnuts, juice and coffee. Registration and a signed waiver is required. The cost is $100 for a family of four or $25 for individuals. (Museum members are $80 for a family of four and $20 for individuals).
