Raeford man faces child sex charges

Hope Mills police have charged a U.S. Army employee in connection with sex crimes involving a minor.

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — Hope Mills police have charged a U.S. Army employee in connection with sex crimes involving a minor.

Ryan Benjamin Oldenburg, 32, of 155 Richfield St. in Raeford, was arrested Thursday on two counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count each of second-degree sex offense and communicating threats.

He was placed in the Cumberland County jail under a $71,000 secured bond.

Police did not release details of the accusations against Oldenburg.

Police records list his employer as the U.S. Army.
