Pump catches on fire at Zebulon gas station
A gas pump at Murphy's Express in Zebulon caught on fire Friday evening after a man forgot to take the nozzle out of his car.
Posted — UpdatedZEBULON, N.C. — A gas pump at Murphy's Express in Zebulon caught on fire Friday evening after a man forgot to take the nozzle out of his car, according to the Knightdale Police Department.
As the man drove away, the pump was pulled down and caught on fire. Police say he will not be charged.
Gas was shut off to the whole station, but the convenience store will remain open.
