Posted — UpdatedCHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Those who live, work and play in southwest Durham County and Chapel Hill will have a chance Thursday night to comment on the future of a key connector when the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization presents plans for development along the N.C. Highway 54/Interstate 40 corridor.
The meeting, beginning at 5 p.m. at the William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education, 100 Friday Center Drive in Chapel Hill, is the follow-up to a public workshop held in November.
Participants at the meeting will have a chance to weigh in on alternative scenarios previewed on the Web site for the project, www.nc54-I40corridorstudy.com. Planners will use the feedback from Thursday's meeting in formulating next steps.
A final public input session on the plan is scheduled for May 11. After that, recommendations will be presented this summer to the individual municipalities involved.
