Cumberland County investigators charged a PTA official at a local elementary school on Wednesday with embezzling close to $4,000 from the school.

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — Cumberland County investigators charged a PTA official at a local elementary school on Wednesday with embezzling close to $4,000 from the school.

Shaquanna Shene McAllister, 28, of 613 Hickory View Court in Fayetteville, is the PTA vice president at Cliffdale Elementary.

McAllister was responsible for a fundraiser that involved selling cookies, candies and gifts.  Investigators said she collected about $10,000 in orders and payments from participants but turned only about $6,000 over to the PTA treasurer.

She was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
