The proposed North Raleigh Publix at the intersection of Falls of Neuse and Dunn Roads may be cut in half, according to the Raleigh Mayor. In a story from Julia Sims, with WRAL, the Mayor indicated that she expected to see a smaller plan for a 28,000-square-foot store later this week. The original plan included a proposed 49,000 square foot Publix as well as additional stores and a bank.
Residents of the nearby neighborhoods have argued that the increased traffic and environmental impact of a shopping center in this area would be unacceptable.
