Probationer charged in Raleigh home invasion
A 19-year-old on probation for an armed robbery charge faces more charges in connection with a home invasion in Raleigh on June 16, according to arrest warrants.

Damon Alexander Smith, of 2820-101 Deer Cove Lane, faces five counts of second-degree kidnapping, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count each of first-degree burglary and burning personal property.
Arrest warrants state that Smith broke into a house at 2404 Evers Drive and held a woman and four men at gunpoint.
He stole TVs, gaming systems, a laptop, cash, wallets, purses and a 1993 Ford Thunderbird worth about $4,350, the warrants state. The Thunderbird was later set on fire.
Smith was placed in the Wake County jail under a $2 million secured bond. He was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Smith was on probation for a December conviction for conspiracy to commit armed robbery, according to state Department of Correction records. He also has 2008 convictions for two counts each of assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats and one count each of going armed to the terror of the public and possessing stolen goods.
