HALIFAX, N.C. — The Halifax County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 24-year-old probationer for the second time in a little over a month for using a stolen credit or debit card.

Jarvis Montae Bullock was arrested Friday on one count of obtaining property by false pretenses. He was given a $5,000 bond and a first court date of Jan. 27, 2010.

Investigators said that Bullock stole a company credit card from an Enfield gas station where he worked. He used it to buy gas, cigarettes and other items totaling $3,800, authorities said. He no longer works for the gas station.

Bullock was arrested Oct. 31 on two counts of each of felony identity theft and obtaining property by false pretenses. In that case, investigators believe he stole a bank card from a visitor at his residence and used it in Halifax, Nash and Pitt counties.

Bullock has also been sentenced to probation twice in the past four months, according to state Department of Correction records.

DOC records show that on Aug. 17, he was convicted of obtaining a signature by false pretenses in Halifax County, and on Nov. 16, he was convicted of aiding and abetting larceny in Pitt County.
