Lately, there have been some excellent printable coupons available for all types of food and non-food products. Checking coupon printing sites regularly is a good idea so you don't miss any great coupons. Here's a list of websites that offer printable coupons. SavingStar.com - With the e-coupon site SavingStar, you don't print out a coupon to redeem at the register. You load digital coupons to your reward card and then the coupon savings are added to your SavingStar account. Once you have accrued $5 worth of savings in your SavingStar account, you can cash the savings in for a gift card. You can choose to receive an Amazon gift card, have the money deposited into your Paypal account or checking account or donate it to a non-profit organization. My favorite aspect of this site is that you can use a hard copy coupon at the register for a product that also offers a SavingStar ecoupon! Printable coupon tips
Create a free e-mail account for coupon sites and online freebies and samples. Many printable coupon sites require that you sign up to receive e-mails in order to print their coupons. If you sign up for a free e-mail like yahoo.com or hotmail.com, you'll keep all the e-mails from these sites from clogging up your main inbox.
Most printable coupon sites let you print 2 of each coupon per month.
If a coupon will not scan at the register, ask the cashier to try the hand scanner (the one with the stretchy cord that can reach around the register that they use for large items in or under the cart). Sometimes the new bar codes that are being used do not scan on the flat register scanners but do work with the hand scanner. Remember that if a coupon will not scan, stores have the right to refuse it.
Photocopying printable coupons is coupon fraud. The coupons are individually tracked and these printable sites can usually tell if multiple copies have been made of a coupon and the IP address of the computer where the coupon was printed. I have heard of printable coupon sites disabling a person from printing coupons through the IP address because of fraud. With that in mind, only share printable coupons with people you know and trust. If you give a printable coupon to someone else to use and they make photocopies and try to use them, they will track down your IP address where the coupon was originally printed and block it from being able to print other coupons through them. Considering that companies are now going after folks individually for coupon fraud, I suggest you don't take any chances.
If you receive a link via e-mail to a printable coupon for a very high value amount it is probably fraudulent (like $5.00 off a 12-pack of soda or a printable coupon for a free product). Most stores will not take printable coupons for free products and if it is a questionable coupon, they will check their list of fraudulent coupons. If the coupon was printed directly from the manufacturer's site, it should scan with no problems and should be legit. If you receive a link via e-mail to a pdf coupon that can be printed as many times as you want, it is probably fraudulent. If you have a question about whether a coupon is legit, just as at the customer service desk of the store.
If you have a color printer, set it to black and white before you print. It's cheaper to print in B & W.
Use a laser printer to print coupons if you have an option. It's cheaper than an ink jet printer.
