Pregnant woman jumps from upper level window to escape house fire
Two people, including a pregnant woman, were injured Tuesday night in a fire in Lenior County.
Posted — UpdatedLA GRANGE, N.C. — Two people, including a pregnant woman, were injured Tuesday night in a fire in Lenior County.
La Grange Fire Chief Ryan Riley said there was heavy smoke coming from the first and second story of a home on South Caswell Street and a large fire in the kitchen.
WITN reports a pregnant woman, Ulaysha Southerland, jumped from a second-story window of the townhome. A friend below tried to catch her and injured his leg.
Both were treated on scene and then taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
