Crews are working to restore power to about 1,000 customers in Vance County.

Duke Energy reports some tree limbs fell on power lines knocking out power.

About 400 of the power outages are centered around the Henderson County Club, where kids were outside playing and sledding — enjoying the 3 inches of snow that fell overnight.

Parents are thankful for snow to keep the kids entertained while the power is out.
