RALEIGH, N.C. — Power will be out for some homes and businesses around Pogue and Hillsborough streets for about four hours during utility work Saturday morning.

Electric service was cut at 7 a.m. and was to be restored by 11 a.m. If utility work is finished quickly, service could be restored sooner.

Crews were removing an overhead electrical feeder on Hillsborough Street in front of North Carolina State University.

Utilities are being replaced and moved along Hillsborough Street in the first phase of a revitalization project between Gardner Street and Oberlin Road. When it's completed, Hillsborough Street will be two lanes, with a raised mediums, two roundabouts, new pedestrian signals and sidewalks, and LED lighting.

Talk about a plan to revitalize Hillsborough Street began in 1999.
