RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police seized marijuana, baggies and cash from a home on Wake Forest Road May 23. According to the search warrant, a tipster told police that Rocco Sammartino Sr., 52, of 2011 Wake Forest Road, was selling pot out of his house.

Police first searched Sammartino's trash, finding an empty plastic bag that smelled of marijuana. That evidence was used to apply for the warrant to search inside. There police found about 6 pounds of pot and a little more than $8,500.

Sammartino, who owns Jerry's Grill in Raleigh, has a 2005 charge of drug possession and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances.
