<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — Raleigh police said that a woman stabbed her boyfriend in the leg with a butcher knife during a fight in an apartment complex off New Bern Avenue around 3 a.m. Thursday.

Gwendolyn Yvette Winters was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury in connection with the stabbing at 409-103D Donald Ross Drive.

Police said that Winters's boyfriend, whose name wasn't released, had non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to WakeMed Hospital.

According to the Chatham County Sheriff's Office, deputies used "all less-than-lethal options" available and captured three of the four dogs. After deputies tried to capture the fourth dog on multiple occasions, a deputy shot and killed the dog.

Warren County Schools on Tuesday responded to a mother's claims that her son with autism was restrained and put in a closet. Asha Crews said her 6-year-old son, Sincere, was placed in a "restraint chair" inside a broom closet at Mariam Boyd Elementary. Crews said the closet has no air conditioning.
