Several transactions involving counterfeit checks took place at the RBC Bank branch at 3412 Westgate Drive in Durham between Sept. 9 and Sept. 23, police said. The bank lost $9,561.15 through the transactions, police said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective C. J. Lear of the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4440, extension 29327, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
