Police searching for missing Moore County woman

Amy Sands, 47, of Ed Thomas Road, was last seen Nov. 4 after leaving Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Aberdeen police said Sands was inside an Aberdeen Walmart when she had a medical emergency and was taken to the hospital.

ABERDEEN, N.C. — Authorities are searching for a Cameron woman who has been missing since Nov. 5.

Amy Sands, 47, of Ed Thomas Road, was last seen Nov. 4 after leaving Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Aberdeen police said Sands was inside an Aberdeen Walmart when she had a medical emergency and was taken to the hospital.

She was released later that day and was seen on security video leaving the hospital.

Police said Sands was seen again on security video on Nov. 4 inside the Vision Center at the Aberdeen Walmart. Her vehicle, a 1999 red Jeep Cherokee, was found Nov. 11 at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Aberdeen.

Sands is described as white, 5 feet 3 inches, about 100 pounds with brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. She wears a turquoise-colored lip ring on the left side of her lip.
