A man is in serious condition after being shot early Sunday in Mebane, police said.

<b>MEBANE, N.C.</b> — A man is in serious condition after being shot early Sunday in Mebane, police said.

Mebane police said Monday they responded to a call shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday about a shooting that happened at 1234 S. Fifth St. They arrived to find a man across the street, in the parking lot of the Cambridge Shopping Center, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to Duke University Hospital. His name was not released.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Mebane police at 919-563-9031 or Crime Stoppers at 336-229-7100.<br />
