Police Search for 2 After Shooting, Attempted Armed Robbery

Durham police are searching for two men they believe shot and seriously injured a person during an attempted armed robbery on Saturday.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are searching for two men they believe shot and seriously injured a Hispanic male during an attempted armed robbery on Saturday.
The shooting victim and a friend were sitting in a truck in a parking lot at 1605 Sedgefield St. around 9 p.m. when two males approached them. One male pulled the passenger out of the truck, pointed a gun at his head and pushed him to the ground.

The second male approached the driver, and the two men struggled. At least one shot was fired during the fight, police said.

The two suspects, who were dressed in dark clothing, fled from the scene on foot.

The victim taken to Duke University Hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to his side. He underwent surgery but was expected to survive, authorities said.
