FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — A Fuquay-Varina police officer was hit by a car Wednesday morning as she was directing traffic in front of a local high school.

The town said Cpl. Clara Dula was taken to Western Wake Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

She had just started work around 7 a.m., when she was struck outside Fuquay-Varina High School.
