Police nab suspected robber in Cary bank parking lot

A man suspected of robbing a Cary bank on Wednesday didn't get far.

CARY, N.C. — A man suspected of robbing a Cary bank on Wednesday didn't get far.

Officers arrested Azam Khan in the parking lot of a First Citizens Bank branch at 10010 Green Level Church Road about three minutes after bank employees triggered an alarm, police said.

A man went into the bank shortly before 3 p.m., displayed a weapon and demanded money, which was recovered during the arrest, police said.

No injuries were reported in the robbery.

Khan, 27, of Cary, was charged with common law robbery and was being held in the Wake County jail.
